Charlotte, NC from Rachelle's Point of View:
What are your go-to lunch spots?
Copain is a little gem of a cafe tucked away in South Park that serves the most delicious salads, pastries, and coffees. I order their farrow salad at least three times a week and of course I can’t resist their peanut butter cookies, chefs kiss!
Favorite dinner restaurants?
Speaking of hidden gems (my husband is going to kill me for sharing)! Aqua e Vino is the coziest Northern Italian boutique restaurant that transports you to the streets of Italy. The menu is always changing based on seasonal offerings and the wine list is 10/10. Pro tip - ask the chef to select the wine for you based on your order!
What are your top hotel recommendations?
Duke Mansion - hands down! Located in the heart of Charlotte is the most charming historic inn and each room is truly unique. Not to mention the gardens on property! My husband and I book often when we’re needing a staycation!
Favorite local boutiques, antique stores, etc.?
Call me biased but as the former Buying Director, Capitol and Sister Store Poole Shop cannot be beat! With brands ranging from Rosie Assoulin, Celine, and Carolina Herrera to Alemais, Posse, and Slvrlake Denim the selection and shopping experience is one for the books. Not to be missed is their fine and demi-fine jewelry selection!
Favorite activities for an ideal day in the sun?
Triple C Brewing is a great place to meet us with friends and kiddos for a drink and some bluegrass music!
A touristy attraction that you’d actually suggest?
U.S. Natural Whitewater Center. Especially in the summer for some live music on the weekends!
Any other Charlotte hidden gems you’d be willing to share?
Rats Nest Vintage Shop in NODA for my cowgirl alter ego. I have a cropped suede fringe jacket from there that I will take to my grave with me.
How would you style Sunshine Tienda for a day in Charlotte?
Rancher hat, Eyelet Bermuda Top, slouchy denim, and a cute summer mary jane flat. I love pieces that make you feel put together without looking like you tried too hard!
